In the latest University Council meeting, Student Party SAM didn’t just ask questions – we made history. We broke a university record by formally submitting a comprehensive package of six concrete policy documents in a single session. We spent the last few months listening to the real, daily frustrations of our student body, and we turned those frustrations into official university policy. We don’t just debate abstract concepts; we provide the exact blueprints to fix our institution.
The Record-Breaking Package:
- Initiative: “Standardizing Social Safety Infrastructure via Sanitary Facility Signage” Safety resources shouldn’t be buried on an intranet page. We proposed installing permanent, physical safety signage in university sanitary facilities so students always have discreet, immediate access to contact lines for confidential advisors.
- Initiative: “Establishing Decentralized Faculty Accessibility Officers” To ensure that campus infrastructure and exam regulations are structurally designed for everyone, we proposed hiring dedicated accessibility officers directly at the faculty level so marginalized students have a permanent voice.
- Initiative: A Standard for Clear Communication in Education Students shouldn’t have to beg for grades or emails. We proposed a university-wide standard setting strict expectations for response times, feedback deadlines, and supervision availability.
- Initiative: Academic Delay Protection Framework When the university causes a delay, the student shouldn’t pay the price. We proposed a framework that structurally protects students with flexible solutions when institutional errors hold them back.
- Initiative: Framework for Expansion of Student Assistant Opportunities We proposed a centralized framework to drastically expand Student Assistant positions across all faculties, providing students with valuable jobs while saving our teaching staff from administrative burnout.
- Formal Letter: Reformed BSA Framework We submitted a formal letter to the Board to overhaul the Binding Study Advice (BSA), utilizing national data to pivot the system from a high-pressure “filtering” mechanism into a sustainable student support model.
Before closing the session, we proudly welcomed the new candidates sitting in the public gallery. The future of student representation is bright, and the standard has been set. Student Party SAM. We Get It Done.
