Right before the elections, the fourth University Council of this academic year took place. The topics discussed were the response to our initiative regarding waivers for non-EEA board members and a sounding board for international students, the annual report, the management report, the annual arbo report, the privacy aspects of processing education data, and incentive grants.
We got a response on our follow-up initiative regarding waivers for non-EEA board members and a sounding board for international students. The Executive Board agreed with our idea of setting up a sounding board. This will take place at the end of this academic year. The request for waivers will be taken into consideration and incorporated into the larger discussion of the scholarship and waiver policy.
We handed in a letter to the Executive Board with the request for social safety training sessions for students. In terms of social safety, research conducted by ResearchNed on behalf of the ISO showed that twenty percent of the students surveyed reported having experienced incidents such as bullying, discrimination, blackmailing, and sexually transgressive behavior. In our letter, we asked the Executive Board to investigate the possibility of implementing similar training sessions at Tilburg University.
The annual report, the management report, and the annual arbo report were discussed.
The privacy aspects of processing the education data needed to be reviewed and adjusted. Further meetings about this topic and these documents will follow.
A policy memorandum about incentive grants was discussed.
