Memo: Opening the Library during Weekends

Student Party SAM handed in a memo about opening the university library during the weekends. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, students are forced to stay at home a lot. Nevertheless, students must be able to commit themselves to their studies. An environment where this is encouraged could facilitate this. It is understandable that the university is not able to use its usual capacity. However, the optimal capacity should be utilized. By reopening the library in the weekend the percentage of people on campus will not increase, which means that the chance of spreading Covid-19 will neither increase. We believe it is a responsibility of the university to help students in the best way it can and there is some room for improvement, therefore Student Party SAM asked the Executive Board to recognize the shortage problem of study places and reconsider opening the university library during the weekends.
